I need to say this. Lamest. "Snowstorm." EVER. We got MAYBE half an inch of snow. WTF, Boston???

I have been incredibly delinquent with the 30 Days Meme, and so I give you some make-up blathering:

Day 01 → Your favourite song
Day 02 → Your favourite movie

I'm going to have to go with "The Lion King" as my favorite movie. No other movie can get me as worked up as that one, and I mean happy and laughing and singing along all the way to sobbing like a little baby. It has an amazing message, and a beautiful plot and character arc. I will say that this is pretty different from basically all my other favorite movies in that the romance in this is not really an important part of the plot, but even for as big a sap as I am, I am more than okay with the limited role of romance in this. It is more about Simba's journey, his grief process and acceptance of his tragedy as a youth, and his personal growth as he understood his responsibility to the pride and that he was worthy of that responsibility. I just love it to pieces, and I will never stop loving it. Have I mentioned recently how glad I am I am finally getting to see the musical? ;)

Day 03 → Your favourite television program

How can you make me choooose??? There are many favorites of the past, but for various reasons they have slipped in the ranks and may never be recovered. I don't know if I can honestly say HIMYM is my favorite program anymore. It's just really been bothering me lately, especially in the way that girlthethird mentioned - how the female characters are just so one-dimensional and offensively written. ANYWAY. This is not the place for complaining.

So I will have to say my favorite television show would have to be Doctor Who. I always look forward to the next episode, I always have a lot to say and think about it when the episode is over, and even when there are bits where I want to throw something at the TV, I can understand why that's in there. There are moments when I think, "Oh, that's so perfect." I love the character development, and I love the rich history this show has. I've seen at least one episode featuring every Doctor but two, and I love them all, even the really cheesy episodes. It's good fun, and I'll always have good fun with it. It helps that I have no involvement with their very (at least seemingly so) fandom whatsoever. So yay for Doctor Who! Runner up would probably be "The West Wing." Oh, how I miss that show.

Day 04 → Your favourite book
Though I've only read it once (it's on loan to a friend right now), I'm going to say The Silent Gondoliers by William Goldman, author of The Princess Bride. It has the same sweeping narrative that Goldman lends to S Morgenstern's work, and it has just such a beautiful story and heart-wrenching climax. It is wonderfully written, and if I had to read one story over and over again, it would be this one. If I could read one book over and over again, it would definitely be a collection of fairy tales. Because that's how I roll.

We show each other love all the time, and I think it would be just wonderful to pull that all together into one big love fest - a little part of this is a reposted comment from idioticonion's LJ which inspired this amazingness. We can combat negativity with love, and I'm happy to be the first one to do this.

Guidelines:

-We are all here for some aspect of fandom, but I know I stayed because of the people, not the information/fic/art/vids. Let's keep that in mind.
-Because of that, try to limit your comments on the person's individual talent: Make <1% of this about the fic/art/vids/etc (even though there are MASSIVE amounts of talent in the people I'm going to talk about), and instead remark on who they are as a person, how they make you feel, what you associate them with, how amazing they people are, how much love they bring to the community, and how much love we have for the community because of that. "Inside jokes" are okay as long as they convey that love, but try to keep your comments accessible to everyone.

helenkiaya, in your words, "we are young and fabulous." I think this definitely applies here. I love that you are one of the few people on my f-list that is into L&C, I adore your J/P gifs at the end of each entry, and I think Neville is really cute!
hellolamppost17, I love how much we have in common, and I love you for introducing me to A Very Potter Musical. You can always make me laugh, and I think we need to create the ToaK fandom, because I think we can make it happen. You, me, and mezz, baby. The rest will follow :)

lilybean621, we've only become friends just recently, but I think that what you have to say is always really well thought out and heartfelt.
