1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
idioticonion gave me these:
1.
I made this on my own when I saw this part of All-Star Superman and knew this had to happen. The story: in college I was a member of a theatre troupe that produced student-written murder mysteries. One semester we did a holiday show entitled, "Stabby Holidays," in which all of the holidays were personified. Mother's Day was, of course, looking after the Baby New Year (it was a doll - not to worry!), but she was kind of forgetful, so she would accidentally leave New Year in dangerous places. The example the other characters would reference was the holiday party the year before when she left her baby alone on an ice floe with a polar bear. Upset, she would correct them and say, "You're not alone if you're with a polar bear!" And this icon was born :)
2.
I needed an icon that was full of glee. I knew I had it when I watched the Doctor Who episode, "Partners in Crime." Just look at that lil' Tennant grin! :D Also made by yours truly.
3.
I regret to say that I've had this icon for so long I don't remember anymore who made this. But when I did first see it, it made me laugh and steal it, because it's sooooooo true. And yes, I might have shipped them when I was 13 and before the 4th book came out, but that was like, a MILLION years ago. I immediately learned the error of my ways once the Yule Ball came up, believe me. The statute of limitations on blaming me for once shipping H/Hr has definitely expired since then. So now I can chuckle at how silly people in fandom are through this icon.
4.
This icon by
imaclanni , and it just RULES. It is a reference to "This is Spinal Tap," which is an awesome movie, and I think it is a reminder to us all to live our lives as if they were turned up to 11.
5.
So I had this icon by
vinyamar for about a month before I was employed to convey my unemployment status, but since I hardly posted at the time (because, you know... job searching/depression that I couldn't say I had a job), it went unused until after I had a job (Coincidentally, the episode "The Possimpible" aired the day after I was offered my job. Though I didn't know it at the time since I didn't get into HIMYM until last Christmas, my unemployment stretch was almost the exact same time period as Robin's). Now, it's my drinking icon!!
roland44 gave me the following:
1.
I just love this hilarious close up of Ted's face. As they would say in the commentary, they really "deep fried" that one! Anywho, this is by by
nothnbutherain at
ontherise_icons , and this just reminds me of how awesome "The Leap" was. And to never cross a goat.
2.
Tee hee. Hehehe. I recently found this icon by
ladypolitik and loved. Oh, Mr. President, how I hope you don't know that there are macros like these out there. We don't mean anything by it, but for the lulz. Otherwise, we truly do love and respect you!
3.
Pooh Bear, let me say, was my first love. I grew up watching "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh," and I loved Tigger before he got all popular and got his own lame movie. The Pooh stories and cartoons are just a lovely bit of childhood, so when I randomly saw this icon, I had to hunt it down and take it for my own. Thankfully, I found that
peacefully at
peaces_icons had made it, and now I can use it whenever I'm as content as a Pooh Bear. Which I usually am when I stare at that icon for long enough :D
4.
Sadly a lesser used icon, Wendy patiently waits for me to break her out once more and actually contribute to society. Or, you know, the HIMYM roleplay.
secondmezzanine wrote a Wendy/Carl fic that made me ashamed of my negligence (plus wowed by its awesome), but apparently not shamed enough to actually log into facebook or msn. FAIL.
5.
heyhallelujah , sadly, appears to have been deleted. but what a great lj name, huh? Anywho,
automotivesmile made this icon, which is full of that lovely OMG moment from "How I Met Everyone Else." I just love that scene so much. And look! Barney looks like he's either going to choke or spit out his drink!
